Church & State Wines, Unsworth Vineyards, Averill Creek, and Blue Grouse Estate Winery wines

Church & State Wines, Unsworth Vineyards, Averill Creek, and Blue Grouse Estate Winery wines

I have enjoyed and written about the wines from Averill Creek, Unsworth Vineyards, Enrico Winery, Church & State Wines, and Blue Grouse Estate Winery in the past. They are all produce good quality wines worthy of Victoria Day.  As Vancouver Island is a very cool climate region the wines you can expect are aromatic white varieties like Pinot Gris, Ortega, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, and Gewurztraminer, reds like Pinot Noir and Marechal Foch, some Rosé, and sparkling wines.  If you do see wines with red grapes like Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon on their website, the grapes would likely come from the Okanagan or somewhere else in the Interior that has a much hotter growing season than on Vancouver Island.  The wineries that I have visited and have written about have wines available for purchase through BC Liquor Stores, as well as Everything Wine, Swirl, and other private wine shops.  Check for them and toast the Queen on Victoria Day. Enjoy.
