Who We Are

C.C. Jentsch Cellars was established in 2102 but The Jentsch family has been farming the Okanagan since 1929. Chris and Betty Jentsch are the winery proprietors and winegrowers. Like many people you may assume that C. C. are Chris’ initials. Actually, they stand for his middle name, Carl, and his wife`s middle name, Coelho, which means rabbit in Portuguese. Through his interest in the Chinese zodiac Chris learned he was born in the year of the Tiger and Betty in the year of the Rabbit, so when it came time to design a logo for the winery, a tiger and rabbit were incorporated to reflect their longstanding partnership.

C.C. Jentsch Cellars family estate encompasses 84 acres on 4 sites and includes 63 acres in British Columbia’s first official Okanagan Valley Sub Appellation “The Golden Mile Bench” just south of Oliver, BC.  The Winery itself and the wine shop is located right on Highway 97 just south of Road 13.

Amber Pratt, head Winemaker, is crafting Chris and Betty Jentsch’s estate-grown fruit into premium labels. Amber grew up on Vancouver Island and moved to the Okanagan in 2009 to pursue her passion for wine. Her knowledge, impeccable palate and love for rosé had her sought after by some of the Okanagan’s best wineries. She came to C.C. Jentsch Cellars with an elite background of experience at Nk’Mip Cellars, Road 13, and Black Hills Estate Winery before accepting Chris’ offer to craft his mature Golden Mile Bench fruit into award-winning wines.
