Creekside Estate Winery

At Creekside Estate Winery, in Jordan, Ontario, are self-described cork dorks who love what they do and have fun doing it. Their first vintage was in 1997. They do cover many Bordeaux grape varieties, but Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah are their signature wines.  They also make a popular Sauvignon Blanc / Semillon blend (a white Bordeaux blend).  Sauvignon Blanc is planted primarily around the winery as this spot seems to do the best for these grapes.  They have made their Sauvignon Blanc in sparkling, icewine, oak-aged, and cold-fermented in stainless steel styles. Syrah is the red grape they are best known for and is regularly available in the Ontario LCBO for just $15.95. Recently, their Syrah took the top award as best Ontario Wine in a blind competition of 120 Ontario producers at the Southern Ontario Sommeliers Association.

I visited Creekside to taste their Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah wines, and whatever else they would pour for me.  Let me tell you about their wines.
