If someone asked if you would like to try an Espumante wine, would you know what they asked? Espumante is the Portuguese term for sparkling wine. Typically made in the Charmat method, it is usually a fun, friendly, easy-to-sip, wine. I received a bottle of the Okanagan’s Adega on 45th Espumante 2025 to review for you. This wine is a unique, non-traditional mix of 100% hand-picked Okanagan fruit, blending Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Pinot Noir, and Merlot. Here are the winemaker’s notes followed by my tasting notes.
Winemaker’s Notes
All handpicked Okanagan Valley fruit. Thoughtfully farmed with a commitment to sustainability. Handled with care, the grapes are destemmed and gently pressed to maintain purity and finesse. Stainless steel fermentation, produced using a modern technique, this sparkling wine is finished with a delicate infusion of fine bubbles, creating a seamless and immediate effervescence.
My Wine Tasting Notes

Adega on 45th Espumante 2025 (BC $24.99) – a clear, medium-minus intensity, pear skin colour in the glass. Medium-minus sized bubbles in the glass. It has medium-intensity aromas of floral, lime, and mintiness. It is off-dry, medium-bodied, with small, creamy bubbles that fill your mouth. Pine needle, lime, citrus pith, mint, apricot, and orange flavours, along with some pepperiness. Quite a range of flavours. Some bitterness toward the end along with a touch of red fruits. Medium-minus length, finishing with mouthwatering acidity and lime flavour.
