More 2025 vintage BC white and rosé wines are being released, just in time for summer. I received a Viognier and a rosé wine from Township 7 Vineyards & Winery. Viognier and rosé wines seem to be quite popular with BC wineries this year, as I’ve received and tasted many of them recently. But now, let me tell you about the Township 7 Vineyards & Winery Benchmark Series Viognier 2025 and Township 7 Vineyards & Winery Provenance Series Rosé 2025 wines.
My Wine Tasting Notes
Township 7 Vineyards & Winery Benchmark Series Viognier 2025 (BC $30.97)
Winemaker’s notes, “Crafted from 100% Viognier, this wine blends fruit from two long-time grower partners: Raju Vineyard in Osoyoos and Fool’s Gold Vineyard in Oliver. These warm South Okanagan sites provide ideal conditions for Rhône varietals, enhancing both aromatic intensity and fruit expression. The wine was fermented primarily in stainless steel, with 24% aged in neutral French oak to add texture and complexity to the palate. Fermentation temperatures of 16–18°C helped preserve the wine’s fresh fruit character while contributing roundness and balance to the finished wine.”
Appearance: This wine has a clear, bright, medium-intensity lemon colour in the glass.
Nose: Medium intensity, youthful aromas of orange in particular, citrus, and touches of pith, peaches, and green leaf. No change to the aromas after decanting.
Palate: Dry, medium body with a smooth, soft, lighter mouthfeel. Medium acidity. Orange, citrus, and peach flavours, with some green leafiness. The peach flavour gets stronger with swirling. The wine has a leaner mouthfeel and more peach flavour after decanting.
Finish: Medium to medium-plus length, finishing with citrus, peach, and citrus pith, along with a touch of pepperiness. No change to the finish after decanting.
A light-bodied Viognier with fresh flavours of peach and citrus. No major changes with decanting, so open and enjoy.

The Township 7 Vineyards & Winery Benchmark Series Viognier 2025 shows a bright medium lemon colour with youthful aromas of orange, citrus, and touches of citrus pith, peach, and green leaf. The palate is dry and medium-bodied with a smooth, soft, lighter mouthfeel and medium acidity, offering orange, citrus, peach, and green leaf flavours, with the peach becoming more pronounced after swirling and decanting. It finishes medium to medium-plus in length with citrus, peach, citrus pith, and a touch of pepperiness.
Township 7 Vineyards & Winery Provenance Series Rosé 2025 (BC $28.97)
Winemaker’s notes, “The fruit for the 2025 Rosé was hand-harvested from several premium vineyards on the Naramata Bench. This blend is led by Syrah and Rotberger, with small amounts of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Meunier contributing additional complexity. Each varietal was sent directly to press with minimal skin contact, imparting just a delicate touch of colour. The resulting fresh, fruit-forward juice underwent a slow, one-month cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve its vibrant aromatics.”
Appearance: A lighter, clear, and bright orange-salmon colour.
Nose: Medium-minus intensity aromas of strawberries and red cherries with a hint of candied red cherries. The aromas were a touch lighter after decanting.
Palate: This wine is dry, medium to medium-plus body with a smooth and round mouthfeel. Medium-plus acidity leaves a light acidic prickle in your mouth. Flavours of strawberries and red cherries along with strong bitter grape stem. Light tannins. No change to the fruit flavours or body after decanting, but fortunately the grape stem bitterness became much lighter.
Finish: Medium-plus length finishing with strawberry flavour that fades quickly and grape stem bitterness that lingers. The strawberry flavour on the finish lasts longer after decanting.
I enjoyed the light strawberry aromas and flavours of this rosé wine. Decanting is recommended to reduce the grape stem bitterness that I encountered when tasting the undecanted wine.
Rating: The Township 7 Vineyards & Winery Provenance Series Rosé 2025 shows a bright light orange-salmon colour with medium-minus aromas of strawberry, red cherry, and a hint of candied cherry. The palate is dry with a medium to medium-plus body, a smooth, round mouthfeel, and fresh acidity, offering strawberry and red cherry flavours alongside noticeable grape stem bitterness and light tannins, with the bitterness lessening after decanting. It finishes medium-plus in length with strawberry flavours and lingering grape stem bitterness, while the strawberry flavour persists a little longer after decanting.
