The last Chardonnay to review for my Ontario Chardonnay Review is a sparkling wine made by Drea’s Wine Co. which produces small batch, single vineyard, low intervention wines. Drea’s wines are certified by Sustainable Winegrowing Ontario. I really enjoyed tasting Drea’s Cabernet Franc wines when I undertook my Ontario Cabernet Franc Review last year. Let me tell you about the latest soon-to-be released Blanc de Blancs Brut 2021.
My Wine Tasting Notes
Drea’s Blanc de Blancs Brut 2021 (ON $49.50)

This wine spent two years on the lees before being disgorged. It is made with 100% Chardonnay grapes.
Appearance: A clear, pale lemon and straw colour. Medium-sized bubbles to start when poured in the glass.
Nose: Medium-plus intensity aromas of fresh stone fruits and lees.
Palate: This sparkling wine is dry, lighter bodied, with medium-plus acidity and pronounced flavours of crisp apple and citrus pith, with a touch of stone fruits and oak. Medium-minus sized bubbles fill your mouth. A mix of creamy and biting bubbles.
Finish: Medium-plus length finishing with crisp apple, citrus and citrus pith, plus light oak and a touch of pepperiness on the finish.
This is a wonderful sparkling wine with a light mouthfeel, bubbles that fill your mouth, and has a fresh, crisp apple flavour. Recommended.
