Make Your Day Sparkling With Champagne Tattinger Prestige RosePR SAMPLE

Many people imagine Champagne as a pale lemon-coloured wine with fine bubbles and some combination of aromas and flavours of citrus, apple, nuts, oak, and brioche. But, Champagne is also available as a Rosé wine, giving it a different flavour profile, typically of red fruits, a little more body, and larger bubbles, from the use of Pinot Noir as the primary grape in the wine.  I received a bottle of Champagne Tattinger Prestige Rosé, NV to review for you.

Champagne Tattinger notes that “Taittinger Prestige Rosé immediately stands out for its intense, shimmering hue whose secret lies in the fact that it is a blend, which is more complex and costly to produce. A quantity of still red wine (15%) produced from the best Pinot Noirs from Montagne de Reims and Les Riceys is in fact added to the final blend, to give this cuvée its unmistakable colour and vibrant intensity on the palate. The high proportion of Chardonnay (30%) that completes the blend brings the elegance and delicacy that underpin Taittinger’s signature style.”

My Wine Tasting Note

Appearance:  A clear, medium intensity, red rhubarb colour. A deeper colour than you see with many still rosé wines.
Nose:  Medium-minus intensity aromas of red fruits and light toastiness.
Palate:  This wine is dry, medium-plus body round with a fuller mouthfeel.  Medium-sized bubble; a mix of biting and creamy bubbles.  High acidity.  A mix of red fruit flavours along with toasty oak.
Finish:  Medium-plus to a long length, finishing with red fruits, light toast, and light tannins.

Rating: ****.*  A quality rosé Champagne.  Very nice colour in the glass, with inviting red fruit and toasty aromas, that continue to the palate.  This dry, sparkling wine has a mix of creamy and biting bubbles on your palate. Refreshing flavours.

Champagne Taittinger notes “that it is deliciously fragranced for an aperitif, it is also a subtle accompaniment to fruit desserts, including fruit tart, fruit salad and red fruit crumble.”  Mother’s Day is coming up, so maybe a nice choice for that day?
