With our brilliant blue sky, green leaves on our trees opening, and robins singing, it is time to enjoy BC white wines. Here are two that I received from Township 7 Vineyards & Winery; their Provenance Series, Blue Terrace Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2025 and their Provenance Series Pinot Gris 2025. 2025 was a fantastic year for BC grapes and winemaking with interior vineyards having a bumper crop after the winter losses the year before. Here are my tasting notes for these two BC wines.
My Wine Tasting Notes
Township 7 Provenance Series, Blue Terrace Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2025 (BC $26.97)
At their Blue Terrace Vineyard, the winery notes that they planted Sauvignon Blanc clone 297 from France. In France this clone is grown in the Languedoc, Loire Valley, and Rhône Valley. What makes the vineyard special is the warm, gravel strewn, sandy soils that absorb and retain heat during cool September and October evenings, facilitating thorough ripening and imparting a distinctive minerality. Atop the bench, the consistently windy site not only contributes to the unique terroir but also enables sustainable vineyard management.
Winemaker’s notes, ” …was crafted from fruit sourced from our Blue Terrace Vineyard in north Oliver, using a combination of stainless steel and barrel fermentation. The portion fermented in stainless steel was kept cool to preserve the wine’s vibrant varietal aromatics and crisp acidity. A second parcel was fermented in two barrels at a slightly warmer temperature (16–18°C), adding roundness to the palate and enhancing the wine’s tropical fruit character.”
Appearance: A clear, bright, medium lemon and straw colour.
Nose: Medium-plus intensity aromas of citrus, peach, guava, and touches of green fruit and oak. Lighter aromas after decanting with the absence of guava.
Palate: Dry, medium to medium-plus body with a smooth, thicker texture. Higher acidity leaves a light prickle in your mouth. Tart flavours of citrus and green fruit, plus a touch of pine needles and pepperiness. Guava with some swirling. A lighter mouthfeel and lighter acidity after decanting. Less tart citrus flavour and no guava on the palate, but I did notice a touch of lime.
Finish: Medium-plus to a long length, finishing with citrus and guava flavours, a touch of pepperiness and the acidic prickle on your tongue. Thicker mouthfeel to the end. Medium length after decanting with a lighter mouthfeel to the finish and no guava flavour.
A bright Sauvignon Blanc with fresh citrus fruits and a thicker mouthfeel when first opened. Decanting really softens the acidity and lessens the fruit aromas and flavours, so I prefer the undecanted version.

no decanting. The Township 7 Provenance Series Blue Terrace Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2025 shows a bright medium lemon-straw colour with expressive aromas of citrus, peach, guava, and hints of green fruit and oak, becoming lighter with air and the guava fades. The palate is dry with a medium to medium-plus body and a smooth, slightly thicker texture, offering tart citrus and green fruit with touches of pine needle and pepperiness, while decanting softens the acidity and shifts the profile toward lighter citrus with a hint of lime. It finishes medium-plus to long with citrus, guava, and a touch of pepperiness, while air shortens the finish and removes the guava note.

Township 7 Provenance Series Pinot Gris 2025 (BC $26.97)
Winemaker’s notes, “…was hand harvested from three distinct vineyards on the Naramata Bench. Fermentation took place in
stainless steel tanks to preserve the wine’s fresh fruit character. The juice was kept cool during fermentation at 14°C to maintain its vibrant aromatics. The result is a fruit-forward wine with lively natural acidity and refreshing crispness.”
Appearance: A medium-minus intensity, clear, lemon-straw colour mix.
Nose: Medium intensity aromas of tropical fruit, rhubarb, and pears. Very interesting aromas! After decanting, the rhubarb aroma goes away and is replaced with green fruits.
Palate: This wine is dry with a lean, soft, lighter body. Medium-plus acidity leave a light acidic prickle in your mouth. White flowers, rhubarb, pears, and peach flavours. With decanting, the wine has a smoother mouthfeel and the acidity moves down to medium There is no rhubarb flavour, but you now get some tropical fruit flavours.
Finish: Medium-plus length finishing with peaches and pears flavours, and light pepperiness. No difference to the length after decanting, and you can add some tropical fruit flavours to the finish.
A delicate wine with fresh fruit flavours and a light mouthfeel. I prefer the undecanted version with the interesting rhubarb aroma and flavour component, plus the brighter acidity.

Where Can I Buy These Wines?
Both wines are available for purchase online via the Township 7 website. Everything Wine shows Township 7’s 2024 vintage of these two wines. I assume that once they are sold out, the 2025 vintages will fill their shelves.
