Happy New Year, everyone!
In 2025, I wrote 142 wine tasting articles, with most of the articles reviewing two bottles of wine. From a quick calculation, I wrote at least 284 wine reviews on mywinepal. Wines submitted to me through the year ranged from

to

wines, but I usually only post wines that were at least

. Price is not a factor in my tastings, as I do not check prices before tasting and reviewing a wine.
5-star wines are the wines that I cannot find anything lacking or anything that I would remove from them. They are perfect as-is. This past year I gave only one wine my 5-star rating. In 2024, I rated three wines at five stars. In 2022, I only rated one wine five stars, which was a Prosecco!
Today, I congratulate a Champagne; Champagne Henri Giraud Hommage au Pinot Noir, NV. My review of this wine is quite short as I wrote it during the Top Drop trade tasting as I stood in front of the table where the Champagne was poured.
My Top 5-Star Wine

Champagne Henri Giraud Hommage au Pinot Noir, NV – This wine has a deeper lemon colour. Nice bruised apple nose. Dry, medium-plus body with a round mouthfeel. Higher acidity. Really refreshing flavours of apples and bruised apples. Medium-sized mix of creamy and biting bubbles fill your mouth. Delicious.

Marquis Wine Cellars in downtown Vancouver has this wine in stock for $187.99
