Enjoy Gerard Bertrand Cote des Roses White and Red Blend WinesPR SAMPLE 

Here are two Gérard Bertrand Côte des Roses wines for you to try. The Grenache-Vermentino-Viognier 2020 and the Grenache-Syrah-Cinsault 2021 Rosé. The Rosé has been around for a while and has been a favourite of many people.  Both wines come in a very distinctive and beautiful bottle with a rose petal-shaped base.  Instead of cork, Gérard Bertrand is using a glass stopper to make a very classy bottle, plus wine inside.  In case you did not know, all of Gérard Bertrand’s vineyards and wines are made following biodynamic principles.  Let me tell you about these two wines.

My Wine Tasting Notes

Gérard Bertrand Côte des Roses Grenache-Vermentino-Viognier 2020 (BC $24.99)

Appearance: A medium-intensity, clear, bright lemon colour.
Nose: Medium-intensity aromas of sweet ripe stone fruits, peaches, honey, blossom and a hint of mint. No change to the aromas after decanting.
Palate: Dry, medium-bodied, with a lightly round mouthfeel.  Higher acidity leaves a light acidic prickle on your tongue.  Light stone fruit flavours, plus touches of stoniness, delicious apple, pear and blossom with air. Dryish with a rounder, thicker mouthfeel with decanting.  No change to flavours.
Finish: A medium-plus length finishing dry with stone fruits, apples, stoniness and a touch of pepperiness. A bit more peppery after decanting.

A tasty, fruity, easy-to-drink white blend. No major change with decanting.  Open and enjoy.

Rating: 4 stars  A white blend with medium-intensity aromas and flavours of stone fruits and blossom.  Some stoniness, pear and delicious apple flavours as well on the palate.  Dryish with higher acidity.  Medium-plus length.

Gérard Bertrand Côte des Roses Grenache-Syrah-Cinsault 2021 Rosé 2021 (BC $24.99)

Appearance: Medium-minus intensity clear, bright peach skin colour.
Nose: Light aromas of strawberries and red fruits.  Add a touch of rhubarb aroma after decanting.
Palate: Dry, medium-plus body, with a round, thicker mouthfeel.  Medium-plus acidity.  Light flavours of strawberries and red fruits, plus some stoniness. No change to the flavours after decanting.
Finish: A medium-length finishing with light drying tannins, red fruits and stoniness. A bit longer length with decanting.

A straightforward rosé wine that you can open and enjoy today or tomorrow.

Rating: 3.5 stars4 stars A wine with light aromas of strawberries and red fruits.  Dry, medium-plus body with more strawberry and red fruit flavours, plus some stoniness on the palate. Medium length.
