Pét Nats can be a hit or a miss, but here’s my trick to enjoying them almost every time…
If your mind is thinking “I want wine”, then maybe don’t reach for a Pét Nat.
If your mind is thinking “I want a beer, maybe a sour, something refreshing”, this is your cue to reach for a Pét Nat.
I indulged in this 2020 Pét Nat from Leaning Post Wines last night and it totally hit that craving for a cold, sour beer on a humid summer day.
I got aromas of grapefruit, lemon, passionfruit, gooseberry, wet wool, and raw dough. The bubbles on it were apparent and grapefruit dominated the palate with a medium finish.
Made with Ontario-grown muscat and bottled on its lees, this Pèt Nat is also vegan friendly.
