Recently, I received this press release from Jackson-Triggs about Dry January, peoples’ tastes, and how Jackson-Triggs is responding to the trend. Here is the press release followed by two dealcoholized wines I received to review for you. I also received three low alcohol wines from Jackson-Triggs which I will write about in a separate post as I do not like my posts being too long to read.
Jackson-Triggs Press Release
TORONTO, ON (November 3, 2025) – Canada’s top wine brand*, Jackson-Triggs, is redefining how Canadians enjoy a glass with the debut of its first-ever 0% alcohol wine, joining the re-imagined Light collection that now has 25% less alcohol. Responding to the growing demand for moderation-friendly drinks that don’t sacrifice flavour, Jackson-Triggs is introducing a full selection of wines that deliver the taste Canadians know and love.
New data from Jackson-Triggs reveals that nearly two-thirds (65%) of Canadian drinkers are planning to moderate their alcohol consumption in 2026, officially making moderation a movement rather than a moment. With it comes a new benchmark: moderation options must deliver uncompromising flavour and a great taste experience.
In fact, 73 per cent of Canadians who drink alcohol (aged 19+) say taste is most important to them when considering a light or non-alcoholic beverage. With this launch, Jackson-Triggs puts flavour at the forefront—crafting wines that prove “less” can still taste like “more”. With full flavours, vibrant aromas and the craftsmanship Canadians trust, these new non-alcoholic and light wines redefine what moderation can taste like.
“We heard from Canadians that there was an opportunity to deliver exceptional taste in no and low alcohol wines, and we’re excited to have Jackson-Triggs lead the way,” says Jordan Mascarenhas, Director, Product, Brand & Growth Marketing at Arterra Wines Canada. “These new wines were crafted to bring the signature Jackson-Triggs taste Canadians know and trust, now available in lighter options”.
At the heart of these new 0% and Light wines is great taste. The trusted and award-winning flavour that’s made Jackson-Triggs a household favourite, reimagined for every occasion. Whether you’re unwinding after work, hosting friends, or taking a break from alcohol, there’s now a bottle of Jackson-Triggs for every moment.

Methodology
This survey was undertaken by The Harris Poll Canada. It ran overnight on October 9th, 2025, with 1,515 randomly selected Canadian adults who are of legal drinking age and are Maru Voice Canada online panelists.
The results have been weighted by age, gender, region, and education (and in Quebec, language) to match the population, according to Census data. This is to ensure the sample is representative of the entire adult population of Canada.
For comparison purposes, a probability sample of this size has an estimated margin of error (which measures sampling variability) of ±2.5%, 19 times out of 20. Discrepancies in or between totals when compared to the data tables are due to rounding.

My Wine Tasting Notes
Have you ever tried zero percent alcohol wine? It has a different feel compared to wines with alcohol, in part because the alcohol adds a fuller mouthfeel, which is absent in zero alcohol wines. So, zero percent alcohol wines have a leaner mouthfeel. Here are my wine tasting notes, sans decanting.
Jackson-Triggs Proprietors’ Selection Sauvignon Blanc 0% non-alc, NV (BC $TBD)
Appearance: Clear, pale straw plus lemon colour in the glass.
Nose: Medium-plus aromas of citrus, honey, guava, and a touch of apricot.
Palate: This wine is medium-dry, medium body with very tart acidity leaving an acidic prickle on your tongue. This wine has a lean mouthfeel Pronounced flavours of citrus, guava, apricot, and salty flavours on the palate.
Finish: Medium-plus lingering flavours of citrus, apricot, guava and saltiness. The mouthfeel, body, fades quickly.

These two wines are imported by Jackson-Triggs and does not provide any information on which grape varieties are used in the Rosé wine, or the origin of the grapes.
I’ve noticed that many zero percent alcohol wines also have a salty component to them. I think I am more sensitive to salt than many people as I use very little salt in my cooking, and notice it right away when it goes above a minimal level for my tastebuds. When I check the ingredients at the back labels for these two zero percent alcohol wines, I see that potassium sorbate is one of the ingredients. Potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate are commonly used in non-alcoholic wines to prevent spoilage since alcohol (a natural preservative) is removed. If you notice the saltiness as well, you can try to minimize it by:
- Chilling serving temperature to mute sharp flavours.
- Pairing with food to balance the palate.
- Exploring different grape varieties, as some better manage flavour balance after dealcoholization.
Where Can I Buy These Wines?
I have not yet found where to purchase these wines in BC. These 0% wines are also not listed in the wines on the Jackson-Triggs website yet. Once I find out where these wines are available, I will update this section.
