Let’s welcome Bodega Huanacache to the Vancouver International Wine Festival 2023 and look forward to trying their Chardonnay and Malbec wines. Here is some info about the winery and their wines, in their own words.
About Bodega Huanacache
Our estate is located in the center-west of San Juan province, by the foothills of the Andes mountain range. The climate is warm temperate, continental (with a broad thermal range) and arid (with precipitations below 100 mm / 3.94 in per year). Under these climate conditions, vine growing is naturally organic and free from pests and diseases.

We manage our vines under agroecological principles, trying to intervene as little as possible both on our vines and our wines, so that they may faithfully reflect the potential of the terroir.
Our goal is to be sustainable and protect the environment. That is why we have built a solar energy plant, process our wastewater, and work towards reducing our carbon footprint in every action we take. We have stopped using heavy glass bottles for high-end wines.
Environmental care is key at the winery. In addition to cleaning only with biodegradable products, we rely on our own wastewater treatment plant. The energy used is generated by our solar energy plant and the residual pomace resulting from the winemaking process is composted and utilized in the estate.
We are passionate about technology and research, in the firm belief that both will take us to a better place, a better world, without having to renounce in any way the harmony we desire to achieve with the environment. From the cosmological and worldly culture of where we are to the surrounding communities we wish to help, we are respectful of the local traditions and heritage, of the land we work and the customers and suppliers who believe in us.
