About Bodega Argento

Our purpose is to lead Argentine viticulture in a sustainable way, respecting our environment and developing brands of high perceived value, traded internationally. Argento’s organic backstory starts in 2012 under the expert eye of international vineyard consultant Pedro Parra and consulting enologist Alberto Antonini. They mapped deep under the surface of the Altamira vineyard site in Uco Valley, Menoza to show in detail the diversity of the soils.  This enabled Argento to identify the right variety for the soil type, select the right rootstock for individual parcels, and see where organic matter was needed to boost the soil’s natural bacteria and activate its microbiology.

We see Sustainability, as not just a single certification. Our philosophy of Sustainability encompasses:

  • organic wines
  • Fairtrade certification
  • vegan wines
  • Sustainable certification

Our vineyards are located in the Uco Valley, Lujan de Cuyo, and Maipu. In our vineyards we take care of the grapes and work in the most natural way possible. At the winery we seek to preserve the best of the terroir, using oak in a balanced way and also avoiding over-extraction to maintain purity, freshness and elegance in each wine.

In 2021, UK wine Journalist and Master of Wine, Tim Atkin MW, selected Bodega Argento’s Head Winemaker, Juan Pablo Murgia, as “Young Winemaker of the Year”.
