Thirty Bench Rosé 2019 with Stir Fry

It might be -20 outside (Celcius!!), but that definitely doesn’t stop me from opening up a rosé when the mood strikes! And that mood struck the other night for what ended up being a very delectable pairing.

The wine: Thirty Bench Rosé 2019 (ON $29.95 from the winery)
The meal: Hoisin fried green beans, broccolini and mushroom stir fry, tofu, and a side of rice.
Why did this work? This rosé was beautifully aromatic. And aromatic wines tend to work with spicy flavours (think Gewurztraminer, Riesling) plus rosé, with its red roots, also doesn’t come with tannins making it super complimentary to spice!

This wine is a combination of a few grapes – 32% Pinot Noir, 30% Cabernet Franc, 23% Meunier, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, which made for some great complexity on the nose and palate. I got aromas of red berries, watermelon, cherries, and red apples. Delish!
