Happy Friday!!  I think it’s pretty serendipitous that earlier this week on the exact same day, not only did I get my new champagne glasses, but I also received some gorgeous sparkling wines from Speck Bros.

So it was only natural that I would christen my new glasses with one of these bubbly’s. I choose the Lazzara Rosato Secco VQA for the occasion.

The main varietal used here was Riesling with supporting roles going to Gewürztraminer and Chardonnay. And the colour was created by skin contact on Zweigelt. The grapes were picked in late September to ensure that they had the perfect balance between acid and sugar. And this bubbly is made using the Charmat method (same method as Prosecco).

Aromas of red berries, red apple, pink grapefruit zest, and white blossoms dominated with a little bit of sweetness this wine would make a lovely dessert for anyone that’s not a “dessert person”.

Food pairing idea: Strawberry and Brie salad with basil and balsamic.
Movie pairing idea: Mean Girls or The Devil Wears Prada.
Music pairing idea: Ellie Goulding or Olivia Rodrigo.

Is bubby something you turn to for dessert? On its own or as a pairing?
Wine gifted, but opinions are my own.

Rating: 3.5 stars
