It is a blend of Carignan, Cinsault, Grenache, and Syrah.  This wine comes sealed with screw cap for easy enjoyment.

My Wine Tasting Notes

Famille Perrin Ventoux Rouge, 2022 (BC $16.84)

Famille Perrin Ventoux Rouge, 2022 with wine in glass

Appearance: A deep, dull, ruby colour in the glass.
Nose: Medium intensity aromas of juicy berries, ripe plums, and touches of oak and stoniness. The aromas stay the same after decanting.
Palate: It is dry, medium body with a smooth, soft, medium mouth feeling mouthfeel. Some buttery texture. Lighter tannins and medium acidity. Dark berry fruit, black plums, raspberries and blackberries, plus touches of oak and some bitterness and tarriness toward the finish. After decanting I picked up a hint of floral and nutmeg.  The pepperiness in the wine showed up mid-palate to the finish.
Finish: A medium-plus length finishing with ripe, dark berry fruit, along with some bitterness, pepperiness and tarriness on the palate. Drying tannins on the finish.  The wine is maybe a touch more peppery after decanting.

No need to decant this wine.  The aromas, flavours, acidity and tannins persist.  Overall restrained deep, ripe, dark berry fruit aromas and flavours with some bitterness on the finish. You may want to try this wine with Herb-Crusted Roast Lamb or Grilled Ratatouille with Goat Cheese.

Rating: 4 stars The Famille Perrin Ventoux Rouge 2022 offers a deep ruby colour with aromas of juicy berries, ripe plums, and subtle oak. The palate is smooth and medium-bodied, featuring dark berry fruit, black plums, and raspberries, with hints of oak, bitterness, and tarriness. A medium-plus finish brings pepperiness and drying tannins, becoming slightly more pronounced after decanting.
