It’s time for a short vacation to visit my family in Alberta. I decided to bring along two bottles of BC wine to share with them and also spread the word about our wonderful wines. The two wines I brought were: Okanagan Crush Pad’s Narrative XC Sparkling 2022 and Township 7’s Blue Terrace Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2023. Let me tell you about them.
My Wine Tasting Notes
Narrative XC Sparkling 2022 (BC $26.99) – a medium-minus clear orange pink rose petal colour. Medium intensity toasty aromas primarily with lesser amount of red fruits. Dry, medium-plus body, with a round, full mouth feel. Creamy medium-minus sized bubbles. Mainly toast along with red fruit, strawberries, and a hint of citrus on the palate. Light oak and tannins. Medium-plus length finishing with crisp red fruit and toast flavours. Rating:
Township 7 Winery Sauvignon Blanc Blue Terrace Vineyard 2023 -( BC $24.97) – a clear bright medium lemon colour. Medium plus herbaceousness, stone fruits, and a hint of white flowers. More tropical fruit aromas and less Herbaceousness with decanting. Lighter aromas as well. Dry, medium-minus body, lean but smooth mouthfeel. Citrus, tart stone fruits, green fruits and stony minerality on the palate. Bright fruit and refreshing acidity. Smoother and rounder mouthfeel after decanting. Plus a touch of tropical fruit flavours. Medium-plus length finishing with tart stone fruits, citrus, and stoniness. Some green fruit and pepperiness after decanting.
I enjoyed this wine a bit more after decanting. It was smoother and rounder, but this wine, undecanted is also a pleasure to enjoy.
