We have all heard about ChatGPT and how it can answer questions that sound human-like. I did read that you can ask ChatGPT to also write text in a style of an author, for example, Ernest Hemingway. I wondered what one of my wine reviews would sound like if it were written by some famous people from our past and present.
I decided to take a review I wrote about Township 7 Provenance Series Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 and ask it to rewrite the review in the style of:
- Ernest Hemingway
- Shakespeare
- Margaret Atwood
- Ann Rice
- T.S. Elliot
- Chelsea Handler
There are different styles and genres of writing here which I thought would make for interesting reading and discussion.

Here is my original review of Township 7 Provenance Series Cabernet Sauvignon 2020:
“A deep, dull purple colour. Medium-minus intensity aromas of black plum, sweet spices, red fruit, blackberries, and touches of capsicum, oak and cedar. Dryish, medium body, round mouthfeel. Blackberries primarily with a touch of black cherries, and oak bitterness. Plush tannins get firmer on the finish. Medium-plus length.”

I think Ernest Hemingway and my writing are closest in style. Do you think that the other styles sound like they could be written by their namesake? Comment below, please.
Although this was a fun experiment, there is a serious side to this article for all content creators. It was very easy for me to copy and paste my review and then have ChatGPT recast it in another voice. How as content creators can we keep our content safe from being copied, modified by an AI tool, and then used on other websites, without credit? From my example above, if you read one of those reviews, how could anyone know that it was taken from my original review? There is a lot to think about with these natural language AI tools becoming more available on the web.
