Just to the south of us is Washington State. They have more than 900 wineries. In BC we currently have 370 wineries. Every year, excluding the COVID shutdown, there has been the fantastic Taste Washington festival, celebrating wineries and restaurants from the state. Tickets for the events, which will be March 6-13, 2023, go on sale starting December 15. It is a short drive for Vancouverites to go to Seattle, where the events will be held. I plan on attending the Grand Tasting on the weekend of the Festival. The Grand Tasting there are tables set up with Washington state wineries, similar to other tastings you may have had in Vancouver, but the difference is about every third table is from a Seattle area restaurant. So you can try pairing food and wine together. It is an excellent experience.
