Oliver, BC (June 7, 2021): On Thursday June 17th, 2021, H2 Rotisserie & Bar at The Westin Bayshore will host four winemakers and winery principals from Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country for a multicourse feast paired with an array of delicious wines from Canada’s most decorated wine region.

“We are excited to bring our Savour the Sun series back to Vancouver and partner once again with the talented culinary team at The Westin Bayshore,” says Jennifer Busmann, executive director of Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country. “We are also delighted to showcase the talent of one of our female winemakers, Gina Harfman from recently rebranded Nostalgia Wines and the team from Bordertown Estate Winery, whose Indo-Canadian heritage and stellar viticultural and winemaking practices showcase the deep-rooted diversity that our region is known for.”

Limited to just 40 guests, the Savour the Sun Vancouver winemakers dinner will seat guests in family pods, well-spaced from other diners on their covered patio, adhering to all provincial health orders. Winery representatives will tell the story of their wines, as each wine is presented, creating an interactive dining experience, presented in a safe and thoughtful way.

Guests will take a journey to all four corners of Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country, exploring the complex terroir of the Golden Mile (Gold Hill Winery) and Black Sage Road (Nostalgia Wines) benches, south to the sun drenched vineyards of Osoyoos (Bordertown Estate Winery), and north to one of the region’s newest and hottest wineries, Ramification Cellars on the shores of Vaseux Lake.

Each course, prepared by The Westin Bayshore executive chef, Shaun Maclean, will be accompanied by two contrasting and complementary pairings, showcasing the versatility of wines the region is known for, such as Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay, allowing guests to savour eight wines from four iconic wineries. 

The menu starts with Hiramasa Kingfish Crudo with grapefruit and green papaya paired with Bordertown Winery’s 2019 Grüner Veltliner; then Grilled Kuterra Salmon with soubise puree and sea fennel paired with Ramification Cellars’ 2019 Pinot Noir and Nostalgia Wines’ 2020 Chardonnay; followed by Bison Tenderloin with potato gratin, parsnip and pistachio crumble with Gold Hill Winery’s 2015 Cabernet Franc; and Lamb Shortloin with roasted shallots, butternut squash and blue corn grits with Gold Hill Winery’s 2015 Grand Vin. To finish, Sticky Date Pudding with vanilla gelato and toffee sauce with Nostalgia Wines’ Cherry Baby Port.
