The Spring Okanagan Wine Festival is Back

As COVID restrictions are lessened, we can start to see more events where we can enjoy food and wine with friends and family.  One upcoming event is the Spring Okanagan Wine Festival.  Below is the Festival’s press release.  Enjoy.

(KELOWNA, BC) March 9, 2022 – After two challenging years, the Okanagan Wine Festivals Society and Presenting Sponsor Valley First are thrilled to announce the welcoming back of guests to the 26th Annual Spring Okanagan Wine Festival that will run from May 5th – 15th throughout the Okanagan Valley.

The Festival brings wine lovers from across North America to the Okanagan Valley each spring to celebrate the timeless craft of winemaking and experience the unique communities of the Okanagan. Over 70 events will comprise this year’s 10-day Festival! Join one of the large Signature Events, detailed below, or visit a local winery for a tasting or event. “If you’re a wine lover you’re guaranteed to find something that interests you”, says Elan Morris, OWFS General Manager. “Come out and discover your new favorite winery and wines!”

The Spring Okanagan Wine Festival Guidebook is available for download to help guests plan their visit, and tickets are available for these events from the OWFS website at www.thewinefestivals.com.

  • Valley First Spring Wine Tastings is back at the Rotary Centre for the Arts, Kelowna, on Saturday, May 7th. Guests can taste over 130 wines from 35 wineries. Tickets include wine tastings, trendy food, live music, and more.

  • From Cellars to Classics, a new event in partnership with Okanagan Chamberfest, takes place on Thursday, May 12th at the Laurel Packinghouse, Kelowna. Guests will enjoy a wine and hors d’oeuvre reception followed by a chamber music concert. Musicians include pianist Meagan Milatz, named one of CBC music’s 30 Hot Canadian Classical Musicians Under 30 in 2019, and cellist Cameron Crozman, recipient of the Canada Council’s 2021 Virginia Parker Prize—the largest prize for emerging classical musicians in Canada.

  • Blush & Bubbles is a new event that is sure to be a hit. Held Summerland Waterfront Resort on Sunday, May 15th, it’s a flirty and fabulous celebration of the Okanagan’s best rosé and sparkling wines! Tickets are a great Mother’s Day gift or gather your best gal pals to get their sparkle on! Tickets include a glass of bubbly, more than 30 wine tastings, curated small plates, and live entertainment.
