The Belmont – Try A New Boutique Hotel in Downtown Vancouver

If you are coming to downtown Vancouver to watch a hockey game, attend a wine event, or for some other reason and don’t want to drive home the same day there are many hotels available.  I recently was introduced to a new boutique hotel downtown called the Hotel Belmont located at Granville and Nelson street.  I, and other travel media, were given a tour of some of the hotel rooms, as well as a lounge, and party rooms that you can rent.

The hotel has a lot of interesting and edgy art.  In the lobby behind the registration desk is a specially made clock where there are no hands or digital update; rather you get a series of small lines that swirl around and then form a digital clock face.  Quite interesting.

Some of the staircases you will find artistic graffiti on the walls.

The bedrooms are very calm with calming colours.  The bathrooms have an interesting black and white tile layout.

The party rooms that you can rent each have their own character.  We viewed two of the party rooms.  The first one with tropical leaves wallpaper a central table and a small kitchen space.  We were treated with optional dark and milk chocolate fountains with fresh fruit for dipping.  You can rent the room and get the chocolate fountains for an extra fee.  I could see that you could fit 20-30 people in the room.  The other room had pink flamingo wallpaper and neon signage on the walls.  A room to have fun.  Again you could fit 20-30 people in this room.

We also were treated to a wide arrange of hot and cold foods that they make at the hotel, from burgers and wings, spring rolls, vegetable crudites and dip, and much more.  I enjoyed all the food.  There are also two bars; one on the main floor and the other in the basement.

The basement bar is really eclectically decorated as well with a bank of rotary phones, funky wallpaper and much more.  Stop by to The Belmont for a drink if you work downtown or visiting downtown and enjoy the vibe.  Thanks to Vancouver Tourism and Travel Massive for putting on this event.
