Have you heard of Rewild Wine? A new brand to BC and to Canada from Australia. I recently received the Rewild Wine Cabernet Sauvignon 2022. According to Rewild this wine is “Sustainably made with minimal intervention, Rewild varietals are a tribute to their home in the Southern Murray Darling and the grapes that grow there. Fresh, vibrant, and easy-drinking, each bottle does good- and tastes even better. Rewild wines are vegan friendly, which means no animal products.”
So there are lots of good intentions for this wine and winery. I appreciate wines that are made sustainably and / or use organic methods. Let me tell you about this wine.
My Wine Tasting Notes
Rewild Wine Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 (BC $15.99 from Cascadia Liquor)
Appearance: It has a deep, clear garnet colour.
Nose: Medium-plus aromas of juicy berries, cassis, black plums, black pepper and a touch of oak. No change to the aromas after decanting.
Palate: It is dryish, lighter-bodied, with medium acidity and lighter tannins. A lean, smooth, light mouthfeel. Black fruit, black cherries and red plums along with a touch of oak and maybe some floral flavours. The flavours float around in your mouth, needing a tannic anchor. No change to the flavours or mouthfeel after decanting.
Finish: A medium-length, finishing lightly drying with juicy sweet and tart black fruit and berries plus a hint of pepperiness and vanilla at the very end. No change to the finish after decanting.
