Rewild Wine’s Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 From AustraliaPR SAMPLE

Rewild Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Have you heard of Rewild Wine?  A new brand to BC and to Canada from Australia. I recently received the Rewild Wine Cabernet Sauvignon 2022.  According to Rewild this wine is “Sustainably made with minimal intervention, Rewild varietals are a tribute to their home in the Southern Murray Darling and the grapes that grow there. Fresh, vibrant, and easy-drinking, each bottle does good- and tastes even better. Rewild wines are vegan friendly, which means no animal products.”

So there are lots of good intentions for this wine and winery.  I appreciate wines that are made sustainably and / or use organic methods.  Let me tell you about this wine.

My Wine Tasting Notes

Rewild Wine Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 (BC $15.99 from Cascadia Liquor)

Rewild Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 with wine in glass

Appearance: It has a deep, clear garnet colour.
Nose: Medium-plus aromas of juicy berries, cassis, black plums, black pepper and a touch of oak. No change to the aromas after decanting.
Palate: It is dryish, lighter-bodied, with medium acidity and lighter tannins. A lean, smooth, light mouthfeel. Black fruit, black cherries and red plums along with a touch of oak and maybe some floral flavours.  The flavours float around in your mouth, needing a tannic anchor. No change to the flavours or mouthfeel after decanting.
Finish: A medium-length, finishing lightly drying with juicy sweet and tart black fruit and berries plus a hint of pepperiness and vanilla at the very end. No change to the finish after decanting.

Rating: A straightforward, off-dry, lighter bodied red wine with black fruit flavours. Medium acidity and lighter tannins. Would benefit with stronger tannins to give this wine more structure. But if you like softer wines, give it a try.
