This week was the official release of Liquidity Wines‘ first certified organic Rosé of Pinot Noir 2022. And to celebrate the release, there was a small party held downtown at D6 Bar & Lounge, the DOUGLAS, Autograph Collection (also accessible to JW Marriott Parq Vancouver guests). As it was a Rosé release, pink decorations and pink outfits were everywhere. The winemaker, Amy Paynter, was there to make the announcement about this wine and for us to have a toast together. The winery is located in Okanagan Falls, which I feel is the Goldilocks location for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in BC.
Besides the Rosé of Pinot Noir 2022 being released and sampled, we also had a chance to taste Amy’s Liquidity Brut Sparkling, which was handed to us as we entered D6, the Pinot Noir Reserve 2020, and Chardonnay Reserve 2020. All these wines were top quality and showed off BC’s fresh fruit character. To these wines, there were a variety of food samples; charcuterie, cheeses, beef tenderloin cubes, and a lemon cheesecake tart. Let me tell you about the wines and then tempt you with the food samples. Enjoy.
My Wine Tasting Notes
Liquidity Wines Rosé of Pinot Noir 2022 (BC $TBD) – has a bright medium-intensity pink colour. sweetish nose showing strawberries and a lesser amount of red fruits. Dry, medium-minus body, and a lean mouthfeel. Strawberries on the palate along with a touch of grape stem bitterness. Medium acidity along with medium drying tannins on the finish. Medium length. A nice patio sipper. –
Liquidity Wines Brut Sparkling, NV (BC $45) – A nice sweet peach aroma. Off-dry, with medium-sized bubbles. Medium body with light toastiness. Peaches and crisp apples on the palate. A dry finish.

Liquidity Wines Chardonnay Reserve 2020 (BC $55) – A deeper, bright golden colour. Medium-minus intensity aromas of pears and vanilla. Dry, medium-plus body round and smooth with a thicker mouthfeel. Medium acidity. Ripe pears with a touch of vanilla and some pepperiness on the finish. Quality.
Liquidity Wines Pinot Noir Reserve 2020 (BC $60) – A medium intensity, clear garnet colour. Medium-intensity aromas of smoky toasty red fruit with red cherries in the background. Dry, smooth, and round with a medium-plus body. Medium acidity and tannins. Deeper, ripe black cherry flavours to the finish. Quality.

If you are having a small party or wedding, this lineup of wines would be wonderful.

Dishes from D6 Bar & Lounge
All the dishes paired nicely with one or more of Liquidity’s wines. I particularly enjoyed pairing the beef tenderloin cube with the Reserve Pinot Noir. The beef was cooked medium and soft to chew. There was a jus on the beef as well to add more savoury flavour. These all meshed nicely with the ripe black cherry flavours and medium acidity of the wine.
