With Christmas just a week away as well as other holidays happening this month, I have been trying to taste as many holiday-worthy wines as possible to pass along to you. If you like sparkling wine, here are two quality wines from Blue Mountain Vineyards and Cellars from Okanagan Falls. The 2018 Brut Rosé R.D. is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, while the Gold Label Brut has Pinot Gris added into the blend. Both wines are made in the Traditional Method. The Brut was disgorged on August 21, 2019 and the Brut Rosé was recently disgorged on August 2021. Let me tell you about them.

Food Pairings
I tasted both of these wines, first on their own, and then with some light food pairings. I had a mixed plate of grilled pork sausage, Havarti and Triple Cream Brie, nuts, and vegetable spring rolls. Both wines with their acidity and fresh fruit flavours were excellent accompaniments to these foods. All had some level of fattiness, excluding the nuts, which the acidity lightened up.
Where Can I Buy These Wines?
