3 Sparkling Cocktails for the Holidays

In case you like cocktails, why not make some with sparkling wine for the holidays?  Here are three cocktail recipes using BC sparkling wine that were sent to my email.

Jackson-Triggs 2018 Reserve Esprit Methode Classique

Elegance in a glass! The citrus aromas in Jackson-Triggs 2018 Reserve Esprit Methode Classique combined with the lemon juice flavours and herbal, woodsy notes of gin to create a fresh, vibrant cocktail.

Serves 1

  • 1 ½ ounces gin
  • 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 ounce simple syrup
  • 2 ounces of Jackson-Triggs 2018 Reserve Esprit Methode Classique 
  • Long spiral lemon twist for garnish

Combine gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice, cover, and shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is very cold. Strain the cocktail into a large flute. Top with Jackson-Triggs Reserve Esprit Methode Classique and garnish with a lemon twist.

Pomegranate Rosé Paloma

A light, festive drink full of seasonal fruit flavours. Add a sparkling with notes of pink grapefruit such as Steller’s Jay Sparkling Rose to the mix for a simple and yet elegant cocktail, perfect for the busy holiday season!

Serves 1

  • 3/4 pomegranate juice
  • 3 ounces premium grapefruit soda
  • 4 ounces Steller’s Jay Sparkling Rosé
  • Grapefruit wedge and mint

Fill a wine glass with ice. Add in the pomegranate juice, grapefruit soda and Sparkling Rosé and stir gently to combine. Garnish with grapefruit wedge and mint.

A combination of classics, this sparkling cocktail is perfect for people looking for the ultimate way to celebrate. The bright and lively Steller’s Jay Mountain Jay Brut complements the cognac with crisp acidity and lively stone fruit and citrus notes.

Serves 1

  • 3 ounces Steller’s Jay Mountain Jay Brut
  • 6 mint leaves, plus sprig for serving
  • 3/4 ounce simple syrup
  • 1/2 ounce cognac
  • 1 dash bitters
  • Lemon twist

Muddle mint leaves and simple syrup in a julep cup or rocks glass. Add Sparkling Cuve Close, cognac, and bitters. Fill the glass partway with crushed ice and stir gently to combine. Mound more crushed ice on top and garnish with a mint sprig and a lemon twist.
