Blue Mountain Estate Cuvée 2020 Chardonnay Perfect for Thanksgiving

Canadian Thanksgiving is on Oct 10, 2022.  Have you considered what BC wine you will be pouring to go with your turkey or ham dinner?  If not, this Blue Mountain Vineyard and Cellars Estate Cuvée Chardonnay 2020 is in my opinion, an excellent choice.  The quality is outstanding and tastes delicious!  Buy it before it sells out.   Check out the beautiful cork.  One solid piece.

Appearance: A medium-plus bright lemon colour.
Nose: Medium-intensity aromas that are very well-knit together of oak, butterscotch, ripe apples, pineapple and sweet spices. No major change to the aromas with decanting other than there is now a toasty aroma as well.
Palate: Dry, medium-plus body, with a smooth, round, thicker, buttery mouthfeel.  You can feel the quality in the mouthfeel.  Ripe apples, butterscotch and pineapple on the palate, plus touches of oak and sweet spices to enhance, not overpower this wine. The fruit flavours, oak, and acidity are well-balanced together. The wine feels lighter, is not quite as thick on the palate and has lighter acidity after decanting.  All the fruit flavours, butterscotch and oak are unchanged.
Finish: A medium-plus length finishing with a smooth, buttery mouthfeel.  Butterscotch, pineapple, oak, and sweet spice flavours with a touch of pepperiness at the very end. A lighter finish with decanting. Less pepperiness and acidity.

This wine is of excellent quality whether you drink it as soon as you open it, or if the bottle lingers over the next day.  If you do drink the remaining wine the next day, it is just a little lighter in body and acidity.  I would finish the bottle with family or friends as soon as I open it.

Rating: 4.5 stars5 stars A deeper bright lemon colour.  Medium intensity, well-knit together aromas of oak, butterscotch, ripe apples, pineapple and sweet spices.  Dry, smooth, medium-plus body with a thicker mouthfeel.  Pineapple, ripe apples, butterscotch flavours with a touch of oak and sweet spices.  Medium-plus length.
