Grange of Prince Edward Winery Unfiltered Pinot Noir 2016 (ON $35.99 from Fresh City Farms)
I haven’t featured an Ontario wine in a while, so it’s only fitting that I share one of my fave Pinot Noirs.
If you don’t know this already, Ontario makes fantastic Pinot. Our terroir and climate makes that diva grape shine – and honestly, I couldn’t be happier about it. (I’ve been told that if I was a grape, I would be a Pinot).
Okay – so this wine. It’s from Grange of Prince Edward Winery and it’s run by a mother-daughter duo, need I say more?
This wine is unfiltered and honestly, it needs zero filters. It is incredible.
Aromas of dried red berries, smoke, tobacco, leather, forest floor and thyme dominated for me and it was so well balanced on the palate with those tertiary aromas shining and a long finish. Absolute perfection, IMO.
