Dog Point Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2018 (BC $33.99)
I took my first sip of this wine as I signed up to Amazon Prime and hit ‘play’ on the UK hit program ‘Fleabag’ and I can tell you right now that I can’t think of a more satisfying combination. On the one hand the wine is so pure, so packed with personality, smoked passion fruit and citrus complexity that it’s literally impossible to put down, and on the other, Fleabag is so incredibly funny and smartly scripted and revolutionary that it’s impossible to look away or stop cringe-laughing (it’s a thing. For me anyway) The 2018 vintage of the DPSB is a slightly lighter style than previous models, and the florals are more evident than whopping herbaceousness or limey concentration. Stylish and elegantly structured, the tropical tones are more evident and those who may have found DPSB too intense in the past, may enjoy this new approach.
