Hart House Restaurant in Burnaby
February 18, 2021 (Vancouver, BC) – Hart House at Deer Lake in Burnaby is delighted to announce that, on Friday, March 5 2021 it will host an exclusive wine dinner featuring BC’s 8th Generation Vineyard. Guests will enjoy a 5-course menu paired with boutique wines in Hart House’s beautiful dining rooms. Seating is available on two floors; note that access to the 2nd floor is by stairs only.

A very limited number of tickets are available for the event, which is being held in conjunction with the 2021 DineOut Vancouver Festival. Hart House is particularly pleased to be pairing with 8th Generation Vineyard, whose premium wines are difficult to acquire due to the small quantities made at the family-run winery. The Schales family started making wines in the Rheinhessen area of Germany in 1783, and their centuries of knowledge and craftsmanship are evident in the Okanagan Valley wines they make today.

About Hart House Restaurant:
The three-acre estate on which Hart House stands was first purchased by New Westminster businessman Frederick Hart in 1906. Frank Macey designed the Tudor Revival building. Paul Smolen and his original partner, Peter Scott, recognized that the house and grounds presented a unique opportunity to create a premier culinary destination. Hart House Restaurant opened its doors as a restaurant in September of 1988. In 2000 Paul Smolen took sole ownership of the business along with his wife Carol Smolen. The combination of lakeside setting, unrelenting drive for fine cuisine, and warm, welcoming service continues to enchant Hart House guests.

About 8th Generation Vineyard:
8th Generation VIneyard
Located in BC’s famed Okanagan Valley, 8th Generation Vineyard is family-owned and operated. The Schales family started making wine in Germany’s Rheinhessen region in 1783. They brought their winepress with them when they arrived in BC in 2003, and have been making their own wines at their Summerland estate since 2007. With centuries of knowledge and an uncompromising attitude in regards to quality, Bernd and Stefanie fuse valued tradition with a forward-thinking approach. They say it is particularly gratifying to be able to introduce their children to the importance of taking pride in their craft and caring for the land that enables them to make such outstanding wines.
