You may have noticed some of my recent Instagram posts showing wines, beer, cider, and spirits from JAK’s liquor stores. They provided me with these samples to show you what you could enjoy over the BC Day long weekend. It was nice to enjoy different beverages. Sometimes I do want something other than wine to drink. The hand-crafted cider and beer hit the spot. And making a G&T the way I like it was also fun. Plus all these products are from BC! I hope you have fun too this BC Day long weekend.
Below are pictures from my Instagram post showing what I tried from JAK’s. You may want to try them as well, or order anything else that you prefer to drink. Enjoy!
The Slackwater Brewing Helles lager is from Penticton and the and the Nomad semi dry apple cider is from Summerland. The lager is light bodied with some biscuit flavour while the cider is fairly dry with nice tart apple flavour. Well crafted! Both are refreshing to drink.
I made this G&T from Sheringham Distillery gin and added a lime slice and mint leaves. Refreshing.
Riesling is a nice aromatic white wine to enjoy with food or on its own. I also really like Pinot Noir. It is lighter bodied with light tannins and goes very well with our hot weather. You may not want to be drinking very heavy red wines during our heatwave.
