Vancouver, B.C. (November 6, 2017): This November, Ancora Waterfront Dining and Patio will celebrate its third annual Caviar Festival, which features an exotic yet approachable menu of indulgent caviar-driven dishes. Mid-month, the restaurant will also play host to an elegant Champagne Dinner starring varietals by France’s renowned Lanson Champagne House paired with a Peruvian-Japanese feast.

Caviar Festival kicks off on November 7 with an exciting ensemble of à la carte dishes designed to bring out the natural flavours of different types of caviar. Focusing on sustainable varieties of the premium ingredient, Executive Chef Ricardo Valverde and Sushi Chef Yoshihiro Tabo have crafted creative dishes like Salmon Tartare Soft Taco with trout caviar, avocado, fennel and pico de gallo; Sea Urchin Nigiri with Siberian caviar; and Hokkaido Scallop Tiradito with Ossetra caviar, cucumber, quinoa and yuzu leche de tigre. In addition to these decadent menu items, guests can try a pure caviar tasting consisting of such distinctive varieties as Northern Divine (sustainably farmed in British Columbia) accompanied by potato blinis, crème fraiche and chives. The festival ends on November 28, and advanced reservations are recommended.
“With our beautiful waterfront views and bright space, there is no better place than Ancora to celebrate and sample one of the sea’s most luxurious ingredients,” said General Manager & Wine Director Andrea Vescovi. “Caviar Fest is always a huge success, and for our third year running we look forward to introducing guests to new combinations and varieties of the delicacy at reasonable prices.”
Adding more sparkle to the season is Ancora’s Champagne Dinner, which takes place on Wednesday, November 15 and will welcome special guest Enguerrand Baijot of Lanson Champagne. After a mix-and-mingle reception with passed canapés, guests will be seated at a candlelit long table for a five-course Peruvian-Japanese meal. Ancora’s acclaimed sommelier team will expertly pair each plate with a selection of Champagnes by Lanson, one of France’s oldest producers. The reception begins at 6:30pm, and dinner will be served at 7pm; tickets cost $195 (plus tax and gratuity).
