Say Cin Cin to Bottega S.p.A. at the Vancouver International Wine Fest

BOTTEGA SPA logoBottega S.p.A. is located in Bibano di Godega (TV), in the Prosecco DOC area and a short distance from the vineyards of Collio, Cartizze, Amarone and Picolit.  We are a few km from Conegliano, the capital of grappa. Halfway between Venice (approximately 50 km), capital of art and culture, and the Dolomites, spectacular mountains, that can be spotted on clear days. It is a land full of water courses which create a delightful environment where the rows of vines give way here and there to ancient castles, Venetian style villas and rural houses. The changing of the seasons offers visitors different colours, scents and tastes for every period of the year.

Rosina Zambon Bottega was a strong-willed and enterprising lady, she was born 68 years ago in Arborea in Sardinia (has passed away on December 12 2008), the daughter of Venetian immigrants who had settled on the island in the 1930s.  In the 1960s, her family returned to the Veneto region and Rosina started to work for a distillery in the Conegliano area. Here she met Aldo Bottega who became her husband. Together with a partner, in 1967 they started their entrepreneurial adventure by taking over Distilleria Sartor. Ten years later, in 1977, they founded Distilleria Bottega, giving their name to a business that absorbed them both completely.

In 1983 after the premature death of her husband, Rosina found herself at a crossroads, but she did not lose heart. With courage and hard work, together with her 19-year-old son Sandro, she decided to keep on down the same road, albeit littered with difficulties. Very soon, her younger children Barbara and Stefano also became an integral part of what at the time was a small, family-run firm. All of them together, over the years, have contributed to the firm’s constant and progressive growth, transforming Distilleria Bottega into a sturdy business of outstanding quality and innovation. Between 2009 and 2011 Distilleria Bottega extends its wine production to Valpolicella (Veneto) and Montalcino (Tuscany).
