As a reminder the Tulalip Resort Casino’s award-winning food and wine aficionado event “Taste of Tulalip” will take place on November 9 & 10, 2012. I attended last year’s event and was so impressed with the exceptional quality of the food and wine at it, that I really strongly encourage you to attend this year’s event. The Big Bottles (Magnum) Party is definitely not to be missed. Imagine drinking from magnums of iconic wines from around the world, like Penfold’s Grange, as well as local Washington icons like Quilceda Creek from last year’s event. The Taste of Tulalip will leave you with Big Memories. Here is more info about the event from the casino.
Sporting an all-star line-up of both national and local celebs, Executive Chef Perry Mascitti and Sommelier Tommy Thompson have spent the last year preparing an amazing line-up, celebrating wine, food and tradition. Joining the two hosts will be internationally acclaimed chef and author Marcus Samuelsson and television phenomena “Head Thirsty Girl” Leslie Sbrocco. This annual event has become one of Washington’s show-stoppers.
BIG BOTTLES
At the exclusive Magnum Party hosted by Tommy Thompson and Rainier Club Sommelier Christopher Chan, guests will be treated to high-level wine and food pairing. Guest Chef Marcus Samuelsson has designed a custom menu of passed small bites with big flavor, drawing from both his global cooking and traditional Tulalip culinary aspects. Thompson has selected a wide range of limited and rare bottlings both in 750ml and large format from all over the world. “All Access” tickets which include this Saturday event are restricted to 240.
BIG PARTIES
One of the largest wine and beer tastings in the state, the award-winning Grand Taste has been recognized as “The Best Wine Event Featuring Washington Wines” (Washington Restaurant Wine Awards). This year over 140 wineries will participate spanning Washington State, California, Oregon, France & Italy. There will also be a featured craft brew “pool garden”. Chef Mascitti and his team will provide an endless stream of small-plate fare, offering a big range of flavor components for guests to mix and match. The Rock n’ Roll Challenge, a crowd-pleaser, pits chef against chef as well as dueling sommeliers with a corkscrew in hand.
BIG FLAVORED EVENT
The weekend begins with a big flavored event – the Celebration Dinner. A Tulalip Tradition, the multi-course dinner features wine offerings from TOT 2012 Honorary Winemaker Chris Sparkman of Sparkman Cellars; Roederer Estate; Vignalta; Penner Ash; La Sirena; Chateau de Beaucastel and Woodinville Wine Cellars. The Chefs of Tulalip will unveil this year’s culinary artistry – a synergy of aromas, colors, tastes and textures.
