Canadian Wine For All – A Call to Action #CanadianWineForAll

Love Canadian WineDoes it bother you when you are visiting a winery in another province, enjoy their wines, and ask them to ship you a case back to your home, and they can’t?  Provincial politics gets in the way and prevents the free flow of our wine between our borders.  Sometimes it is easier to get wines from other parts of the world.  Well the time has come for a few brave BC wineries to go to the Supreme Court and fight for the free flow of wine, for us all to enjoy.  Below is information about the wineries, their goals, and their need for your help.  Please read and help.

~~~
Canadian wineries want to be able to ship to you, no matter where you live in Canada.
If markets outside wineries’ home provinces do not become available to premium
Canadian wines, many predict the industry will struggle over the long-term.
But there is hope! Five small BC wineries have been granted permission to bring their
concerns to the Supreme Court of Canada.
R. v. Comeau is the first court case in which any winery in Canada has had an opportunity to
address the legal barriers to interprovincial shipping of wine made from Canadian grown
grapes.
The Supreme Court will hear the case in early December 2017. Now is the time to let
Canadian wineries know that they matter to you.
HELP NOW
  1. GIVE to the fundraising page via GoFundMe link
    https://www.gofundme.com/canadian-wine-for-all. Funds will be used to
    support the legal costs of taking the message to the Supreme Court of Canada.
    Any excess funds raised will go to wine scholarships across Canada.
  2. Share this online. Ask your friends to share. Ask your friends to give.
  3. If you know someone in government; local, provincial or federal, make them
    aware that we need their ongoing, collective support.
  4. Buy Canadian wine. Look for the VQA mark or check on the back label for the
    words “Product of Canada”.
  5. Support restaurants and retailers that proudly sell Canadian wine.
The Canadian wine industry is committed to moving the bar even higher and to leaving a
strong wine community for the next generation. Thank you for your help!
